The 2008 Organization of Vietnamese Professionals Holiday Party was a Great Event. We had over 40 people attend our first Holiday party. The food was delicious as usual and the gift exchange was fun for everyone. Thanks to Thanh for organizing the event and getting the decorations, including a real Christmas Tree.
We had a great time Saturday night. We had two full tables with 18 players. It was nice to see several new players come out. We played for about 2.5 hours and then broke for hamburgers and hotdogs. Thanks to Bach, Phong, Charles and John for cooking those burgers and dogs.
Awesome turnout for our latest Wine and Beer Lovers Group event at Best Cellars in Arlington. We had over 25 new and familiar faces meet for the wine tasting that was hosted by their knowledgeable staff. We tasted 6 wines from around the world accompanied by light snacks. Afterwards, we had dinner at nearby Cafe Asia. Thanks to everyone who came out and to Lou for organizing.
Our first big event of the summer was a huge success. Over 40 people came to the showing of "Three Seasons" followed by a rooftop BBQ at one of the nicest condos in DC. Although the BBQ was interrupted by a thunderstorm, we managed to get all the food cooked and enjoyed being outdoors. The view from the rooftop was magnificent.
