Vietnamese Movie Club
I know there are a lot of good Vietnamese movies out there, so I thought it might be nice to start a group where we can pick out a movie to watch, discuss, and socialize together. Movie suggestions welcome! And don't forget to subscribe to the movie group if interested so you can get all the posts and updates. Thanks!

Movie and Barbecue!
Our first big event of this year will be a combination movie showing followed by a barbecue! We will be showing the movie "Three Seasons" a highly acclaimed movie that was a triple winner at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival.
Photos from Viewing of Daughter from Danang
We had a strong turnout for our second Movie Club event. Daughter from Danang is an emotional and powerful movie that most Vietnamese Americans can relate to. It was thought provoking and allowed members to engage in active discussion. Thanks to everyone who came.
Photos from the DC Premiere of Trai Tim Be Bong
We had a decent turnout for the premiere of the movie Trai Tim Be Bong or "The Little Heart." This was one of the stops that the director, cinemetographer, and lead actress made in the US in promoting the release of this powerful drama. The team answered all our questions after the film. Special thanks to Christian Oh from the APA Film Festival for coordinating this showing.
Screening of THE LITTLE HEART - Trái Tim Bé Bỏng
The Institute of Vietnamese Culture and Education (IVCE) in association with:
The Asian American Student Union of UMD

The 9th Annual DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival is proud to present:
Trái Tim Bé Bỏng - THE LITTLE HEART
A poignant film about a dilemma that adversley effect the innocent lives of young teenager. They begin to thirst and dream for a city life with many colors and opportunities. But the city life has its own dark sides with many traps, where the adults are taking advantages of the innocents and they sell them into the brothels in Ho Chi Minh City. There, these young teens are living the life of a prostitution and eventually become infected with AIDS and with some of them dying at a very young age.
Photos from Movie Event - Journey From the Fall
One of our best events yet! Thanks to Chau for organizing this viewing of, in my opinion, one of the better Vietnamese-themed movies to come out in a long time. It was a powerful movie that combined great acting and a deep plot. Thanks to Vinh for allowing us to use the Rec Room in his condo.
